OPSOMMER, ROGER WILLIAM, age 74, of Belleville, passed away October 25, 2022. He was born June 5, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, son to the late Morris and Virginia Opsommer (nee Desloover). Loving partner of Mildred Ferguson for over 30 years, father of Roger (Jackie) Opsommer and Lori (Joe) Sharps, step-father to Dawn (Steve) Blakita, John Ferguson and Kim Ferguson; proud grandfather of Grace, Roman, Ella, Luke Isaac, Samantha and Collin; Loving great grandfather of Joshua Heffner and many more; and brother to Denise (Greg) Paulauskas, Linda (Ron) Brudzinski, Amy (Ivan) Henderson, Eva Grubb, Yvonne Anderson, Rene Opsommer, Julie Opsommer and the late Amal Opsommer. Roger graduated from Harper Woods High School and then proudly joined the United States Army. He was always fascinated with the stock market and enjoyed talking politics. Roger was an avid reader of anything non-fiction. He will be remembered for his intellect and great sense of humor. He was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by many. A funeral service will be held at Coats Funeral home in Clarkston at 11:00am on Saturday, October 29, 2022. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 4:00-9:00 pm.
