TOMPKINS, ROBERT J. OF Waterford, passed away September 17,2020 at 85 years of age. Loving husband of late Gayle Tompkins; dear father of Rhonda (the late James) Shuart, Carla (Richard) Shlom, Karyn Tompkins, Kathryn Tompkins and Robert (Judy) Tompkins; grandfather and great grandfather of many; brother of late Shirley (Kenneth Reid), Neville (Eldine) Tompkins and Jean (Don) Sterling. Robert was born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada and would move to Michigan in his early 20's. He owned and operated Tompkins Trucking and eventually made his home in Waterford with his wife Gayle. He attended Woodside Bible Church in White Lake for many years. Robert was very active, always helping anyone in need. He enjoyed the outdoors whether it was boating, gardening, golfing or riding his Gold Wing motorcycle. He enjoyed many winters and made great friends in Punta Gorda, Florida. His zest for life will be dearly missed by his loving family.
