Robert was born in Atlanta, GA and migrated to Toledo, OH with his parents in 1947. He was a graduate of Macomber Vocational High School and a 1966 graduate of University of Toledo in electrical engineering. A veteran of US Air Force; member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Glendale Presbyterian Church, Community Presbyterian Church, Gideons, and a good friend of Bill W. As an electrical engineer his employment included, Owens-Illinois, Inc., LCBMRDD, Finkbeiner-Pettis amp; Strout, and DTE. In later years, he enjoyed volunteering for Gideons and arguing politics.
