MALEGA, ROBERT S. "ROB" of Waterford, passed away on November 5, 2021 at 59 years of age. Loving husband of Pamela (nee Duncan) for 22 years; dear father of Melissa Malega, Matthew Malega, Cassondra (Justin Gonzalez) Watkins, and Travis (Lyndsey Garcia) Watkins; brother of Michael Malega; grandfather of 8; great grandfather of 1. Survived by his beloved dogs and faithful companions Duke and Daisy. Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Marcialee Virginia (nee Gable) Malega, brother Steven Malega, and beloved dogs Rosco and Roxie. Rob was a 1980 graduate of Franklin High School in Livonia and veteran of the US Air Force. He was a member of Ironworkers Local 25 where he specialized in large steel construction projects. He met Pam at Williams Lake Beach and they would spend 22 years raising and caring for their family. Rob enjoyed fishing; camping; canoeing; and casinos. An excellent mechanic, he was the life of the party and would help anyone in need. His grandchildren and fur babies will miss rides with him on his golf cart and his blaring rock and roll music. A memorial service will be held on November 18, 2021 at 12:00 noon at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. A luncheon will follow the service. Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until time of service. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly with military honors.
