of Waterford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 1, 2015 at 86 years of age. Dear husband of Marjorie for 58 years; beloved father of Susan (Carl Messer) Brownell, Sharon (Andre) LaRoche, Linda (Phil) Merlo, Carolyn Brownell, Amy (Steve Buck) Brownell, Teresa (Larry) Loree, Lisa (Larry Tippett) Brownell, Christine Brownell and Robert Brownell; loving grandfather of Emily, Isabelle, Ana, Ben, Sean, Lewis, A.J., and Quentin. Robert is survived by his brother Joseph and preceded by his parents Roy and Alma Brownell and his brothers Roy, John, David, and sister, Naomi. Bob worked at D'Arcy Masius Benton amp; Bowles advertising agency in Bloomfield Hills from 1953 to 1996. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for his distinguished service in the Korean War. Bob loved woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren at the family cottage on Lake Huron. Bob was a soft spoken and gentle soul who will be dearly missed by those who had the honor of knowing him.
