of Clarkston, formerly of Fenton, passed away March 24, 2016 at 83 years of age. Loving husband of Helen for 61 years; beloved father of Denise Arpke and Stephen (Brenda) Kuciemba; grandfather of Laura (Joel), Brian, Amy (Kevin), Sara (Christian), and Gabe; great grandfather of Grayson, Lucy, Troy, and one on the way; brother of Florence Gurr and Carol (Bill) Schmidt. Richard was a veteran of the US Army-Korea. As an accomplished musician he played in the US Army Band. He retired from the GM Proving Grounds in 1987 after 30 years of service. Richard was a handiman; gardener; and a car enthusiast; but most important to him was his music. Richard played the clarinet and saxophone in many bands over the years in Ohio, Michigan and Arizona, always with his wife on the dance floor. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
