HEDGE, RICHARD THOMAS of Warren passed away August 31, 2022 at 72 years of age. Richard was born on August 27, 1950 to parents the late Charles Elmer and Madeline Sherman Hedge (nee Tidwell); loving husband of Linda Hedge (nee Overby) for almost 27 years; dear father of Jayson Tiedeman, Joshua Hedge (Danielle), and Kathryn (Fiancé Shawn McDade) Hedge; proud grandfather of Leah Rabaut, Emma Hedge, Nora Hedge, Sara Hedge, and Kennadie McDade; dear brother of Carolyn Paladino and Becky Green, and he has joined in heaven his Yorkiechon fur babies Maggie Mae and Toby. Upon graduating from L'anse Creuse High School in Mount Clemens, Richard proudly served his country as a SeaBee during Vietnam. After his service, he went on to receive his bachelor's degree in HVAC from Henry Ford College. He became the Chief Engineer in Malone Management/Somerset and worked for 30 plus years. Richard's persistence, after 3 failed attempts, got him a date with his coworker Linda and she and her son accompanied him to a Detroit Tigers baseball game. They grew their blended family when they married September 16, 1995. In his free time, he was a dedicated family man especially to his grandchildren whom he loved with all of his being, grilling master, pulling pranks that mostly involved getting someone wet, traveling, listening to blue grass or old country, and working on his house. Richard liked to keep things simple; a man dedicated to his family and his country. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. Funeral service will be Thursday, September 8th, 2022 at 11:30 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON (8909 Dixie Hwy). Family will receive friends on Wednesday September 7th, 2022 from 4-9 PM. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors.
