DIMMER, RICHARD DAVID, of Waterford, passed away October 27, 2022, at 80 years of age. Born on November 25, 1941 in Highland Park, Michigan to parents the late Raymond James and Laura Dimmer (nee Tinetti); beloved husband of Carol Ann Dimmer (nee Forster) for 44 wonderful years; dear father of Kenneth Michael (Amber) Dimmer, Robert Furreboe, and predeceased by son Stephen Matthew Dimmer; proud grandfather of Rachel, Michael, and Daniel; dearest brother of Nancy (Ed) Hahn, Donald (Pat) Dimmer, Phil (Jan) Dimmer, and Mary Ann (Tony) Baltcell. The family of Richard wants to give a special thanks to the wonderful and compassionate caretakers over the years: Erika, Alba, Keisha, Kyle, and Ike. Richard graduated from Shrine Catholic High School in Royal Oak and earned his Bachelor of Accounting degree at University of Detroit; also, a certified business accountant and certified tax preparer. He belonged to many accounting and tax organizations and served on many boards as a director. He met the love of his life Carol through work, and they were married July 1, 1980. Richard was fortunate enough to have a career he was truly passionate about. He and his wife Carol lived out their dream by opening their own business Peppermint Village in Waterford and RD Dimmer and Associates in Waterford and Oscoda, Michigan, businesses he ran for 40 years. In his free time, he enjoyed doing anything and everything accounting; watching U of M football; camping; hiking; swimming; traveling in Michigan. He also liked spending time landscaping and planting trees, having planted over 10,000 trees on his property. Even to the very end, Richard would use his skills to help people with their financial and entrepreneurial endeavors. He will be deeply missed by all, especially by the love of his life Carol whom he adored and cared for her his entire life. A memorial service will take place at a later date.
