Obituary

My sister, Rachel Renee Wooten passed away far too soon on April 15, 2025, at the age of 23. She was born on June 27, 2001, a little over a year after our brother Jordan, and she and I (Heather) were Irish twins. We were blessed to all stay together after being born in Indiana and navigate the foster system side by side.

Growing up, no matter what our life looked like, I always had her. She was always there for the people she cared about, making them feel safe and loved. She was effortlessly hilarious, with a laugh that was truly contagious and she had a way of making even the hardest moments seem lighter.

Rachel touched so many lives along her life's journey with her passionate love and vibrant personality. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother. She was the most devoted, resilient, and selfless mom to her 6-month-old son, Aspen, and a gentle, guiding caregiver to her stepson, Asher. Everyone who knew Rachel knew that motherhood came naturally, and she was the best mom in the entire world.

She had a deep love for music and cherished sharing it with us. To borrow a line from Harry Styles, she showed us a power that is strong enough to brighten the darkest days.

Rachel's absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who loved her, but the love she gave will never leave us. She is survived by her precious child, Aspen; her adoptive parent Renee Wooten; her beloved siblings: Heather Wooten, Jordan Wooten, Brandon (Chelsea) Ingram, and Justin (Kelsey) Ingram; and her best friend, Taylor Campbell.

Sissy I will spend the rest of my life missing you, and honoring you in everything that I do.
