DONAGHUE, PETER M. of Davisburg, passed away unexpectedly November 12, 2023 at 72 years of age. Loving husband of Nancy (née Wright) for 28 years; father of Kara Ward, Peter (Nicole) Donaghue, Molly (Greg) Rej, and Victoria (Al) Petersen; grandfather of 8; survived by 5 siblings; preceded in death by 5 siblings; survived by the mother of his children, Jayne Donaghue; and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was a graduate of College for Creative Studies in Detroit and continued his creative study at Oakland Community College in ceramics. He owned and operated McDonald's Restaurant on M-59 in Waterford from 1983 until 2018 and was a driving force behind The McBiker, McDonald's fund raisers for The Ronald McDonald Houses of Detroit and Ann Arbor. He was a member of the oldest operating Masonic Lodge in Michigan, Stoney Creek No. 5 in Rochester. In his spare time, Peter enjoyed the motorcycle community with his wife Nancy and enjoyed building and painting motorcycles with his friends. In his retirement, he built a pottery studio in his home in Davisburg. He never sold his pottery, instead he found great joy in giving his pottery as gifts or for a simple thank you when invited to friends and families homes. He will be forever loved and missed. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 1 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. Family will receive friends Tuesday 12 PM until time of service. Following services a luncheon will be held at Overtyme Grill & Tap, 4724 Dixie Hwy, Waterford. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Ann Arbor or Detroit.
