pborn on May 3, 1931 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Knute and Anna B. Nelson. He was one of five children. Norm is the cherished brother of Gloria (John) Colvin of Hartland, MI; Judy (Ron) Broadway of Michigan and Florida; Gary (Sandra) Nelson of Ocala, Florida; and the late Peggy (the late Douglas) Houston. Norm attended Auburn Hts. Schools, grades 1-12 and graduated in 1949. He worked for Fisher Body until he was drafted into the Army in early 1952 during the Korean Conflict. After the army, he returned home and enrolled in Pontiac Business College. In May of 1955, he married the love of his life, Shirley L. Lyons, who survives him. In 1957 they moved into their new home in Waterford. Norm is survived by his daughter, Sheri Lynn Nelson, also of Waterford. Over the years, Norm enjoyed golfing, hunting, and lots of fishing; fishing everywhere from Florida to Alaska and the many lakes in between. In 1977, his daughter Sheri encouraged Norm and Shirley to attend Williams Lake Church of the Nazarene; where they continued to be proud members. The family loves the church, Pastor Daniel Wine, and the congregation. Norm was also a life member of the Pontiac- Waterford Elks Club and the American Legion.
