of South Lyon, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 91 years of age. Beloved husband of Nancy for 31 years and the late Dorothy for 36 years. Loving father of Patricia (John) Rohman, Dean (Martha) Cook, Debbie (Dean) Miller, Linda (Stephen) Spare, Robert (Katie Ellen) Cook, Loraine Vallad and Janet (Jim) Allen; proud grandfather of 14 great grandfather of 23 and great great grandfather of 2; caring brother of Faye (Richard) Devost and the late Glen (Pauline) Cook, Clay Cook and Thelma Atkinson. Norman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cook, of Gagetown received his honorable discharge at Camp Atterbury, Indiana April 29, 1946. He entered the Army April 10, 1944, took his basic training at Camp Hood, Texas, and Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. He spent 10 months overseas with the Third Army in England, France, Belgium, and Luxemburg. Carter has the Presidential Citation, Certification of Merit, three bronze stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct badge, Victory medal, E.T.C. ribbon, American Theatre ribbon, and Occupation ribbon.
