Niel Edward Isbell, age 77, of Clarkston, Michigan, passed away April 18, 2021, at Medilodge of Grand Blanc of complications due to dementia.Niel Isbell was born on July 19, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois. He was in the Air Force, stationed in Italy. After being discharged from the military, he became a master electrician at General Motors for 43 years. During his time at GM, he started his own sweeping business, Genoa Maintenance, and built his own sweeping trucks and equipment. After retiring from GM and selling his business, he kept busy buying and fixing up cars to resell. He was married to his wife, Karin Isbell, for 46 years.Niel Isbell was survived by his late wife, Karin Isbell; daughter, Kris Chaney, and husband, Dan; son, Austen Isbell, and husband, Ara Hachigian; daughter, Amber Welvaert, and husband, Christopher; grandchildren, Khalan Isbell, Denver Welvaert, and Carson Welvaert; and siblings Warren Isbell (Rosemarie), Bonnie Brabender, Charles Wayne Isbell (Kathy).He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Isbell, in 1964; mother, Grace (Neville) Isbell, in 1997; and sister Joyce (Isbell) Davis, in 2017.The visitation for Niel and Karin Isbell will be held at First Baptist Church of Fenton in Michigan on May 17, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m., and is open to all who wish to pay their respects to the family. The funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Fenton on May 18, 2021, at 9 a.m. and is open to all family and extended family. A private burial service for immediate family will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly at 10:30 a.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and precautions the family is requiring all attendees to wear masks and social distance.
