TAYLOR, MICHAEL G. of Flint, passed away October 24, 2023 at 77 years of age. Husband of Melodie (née Orourke); dear father of Stephanie (Matthew) Mead, Christopher Taylor, and the late Micah Taylor; grandfather of Cole, Alyssa, and Jayce; brother of Robbin Underhill; preceded in death by 4 siblings. Mike earned a bachelor's degree from Detroit College of Business and was a veteran of US Army-Vietnam. He retired from Oakland County Sheriff Department in 2008 after over 35 years of service as a sheriff. Mike was a member of the Walled Lake Masonic Lodge #528. An avid animal lover he enjoyed feeding the deer, turkeys, and chickens and was never able to bring himself to eat any so he just kept feeding them. He enjoyed long walks with his dogs; working on puzzles; and most important, time with his family. He was a proud American; proud veteran; and proud to be "Grumpy" grandpa. He will be dearly missed forever. Funeral service will be Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 12 noon at COATS FUNERAL HOME-CLARKSTON, (8909 Dixie Hwy). Burial follows with honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon.
