LANE, MICHAEL, Jr., age 70 of Waterford, passed away March 20, 2024. He was born on May 28, 1953 in Waltham, Massachusetts, son to the late Michael and Mary Lane (nee Flaherty). Dear father of Christopher (Soo) Lane, Brian (Clinton) Lane and the late Christina Lane; proud grandfather of Garritt, Hannah, and Collin. Loving brother of Ann (Paul) Bloomstrand, Kevin (Denise) Lane, and the late Mary T. Lane. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Terry Lane, on March 11, 2024. Mike graduated from the Macomb Community College Police Academy and had a successful career as a police officer for Waterford Township. He was proud of his time as a police officer and retired as a Sergeant after 27 years of dedicated service. Mike was good with people and was a great caretaker to his wife. One of Mike's lifelong dreams was to own a Cadillac, one that came to fruition when he finally got his XT4. He enjoyed traveling Up North, going to the casinos, and spending countless hours perfecting his lawn. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Mike will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his caring nature, and his ability to tell a good story. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 12 noon at COATS FUNERAL HOME – CLARKSTON. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 10:30am until time of service. Interment at All Saints Cemetery in Waterford, Michigan.
