Obituary

Michael "Mike" E. Blair, passed peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Waterford at the age of 74. Mike was the loving father of Jason Blair, Amy Blair, Evan Blair, and Miles Blair. He was a proud grandfather of Alisha Blair and Tejay LeGard, and a cherished great-grandfather of Aria and Levi Fleury. Dear brother of Richard (Patty) Blair, Patty (Bill) Borg, Peggy Myers, and Jerry (JoAnn) Blair. Mike dedicated over 30 years of service to Comcast before his retirement, building a career marked by hard work and dedication. He will be remembered for his generous heart and a spirit that was entirely his own. Mike gave freely of himself — especially to his children — and extended that same warmth to close friends, sometimes opening his home to them as if they were family. He was a man of strong convictions, never hesitant to speak his mind or stand up for what he believed in. Mike loved the outdoors — he enjoyed long walks and found genuine satisfaction in working outside, so much so that he turned down promotions at Comcast to stay in the field rather than move behind a desk. He was an avid pool player — earning a reputation as a "pool shark" through his participation in numerous leagues and tournaments. He had a deep love of music, particularly classic rock, and a genuine appreciation for jazz — he spoke often of Wes Montgomery and Django Reinhardt, and was known to pass their music along to those he cared about. Mike was also a familiar and friendly face at the Drayton Café, where over the years he formed lasting friendships and was considered part of the café family. Visitation will be held at COATS FUNERAL HOME – Clarkston, 8909 Dixie Highway, on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mike's memory. Mike will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
