Loving mother of Christopher Mattson and Samantha Hoeksema; beloved daughter of Sandy Mackey and the late Roger Walters; sister of Katie and Daniel Walters; special niece of Tommy and June Scott. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Melissa was a 1986 graduate of Clarkston H.S. She was working in Florida for BC/BS when she was diagnosed with cancer. Melissa loved fishing and was an avid fan of C.S. Lewis. She was a devoted member of AA and helped many on their road to recovery. She loved, adored and idealized her children and her family.
