WHITMAN, MARY ELLEN, of Clarkston, passed away Monday April 13, 2020 at 77 years of age. Born on February 6, 1943, in Hazel Park, Michigan, the dear daughter to the late Jayson and Jane Mapes. Beloved wife of William "Bill" Whitman for 34 years; dearest sister of Tim (Annette) Mapes, Adam (Tricia) Mapes and the late Mark Mapes. Also survived by her sister in law Barbara, her nephews Justin, Trenton, Monty and Marty, several cousins and extended family. Mary was a test car driver for General Motors at their Milford Proving Grounds, where she retired after many years of faithful service. She and her husband Bill attended Mt. Zion Church in Clarkston. In her free time Mary enjoyed bowling and also loved to disco on roller skates.
