quietly passed away Thursday evening, June 16th, 2016. She was born in Gary, Indiana in September 22, 1927, daughter of George and Maybelle Stierer. She is now resting at peace and joined in spirit with her beloved husband, Robert McClean Reynolds who left this world in 2007. Mary was an education major when she met Robert at the University of Michigan. She was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority where she met many of her lifelong friends. Robert and Mary were married in 1949 and lived in Ann Arbor, Pleasant Ridge and Lake Angelus, Michigan. Mary loved teaching young children and received a Masterrsquo;s Degree from Oakland University in Counseling so she could help young children in an elementary school in Royal Oak, Michigan. She had a deep appreciation for flowers and belonged to the Pleasant Ridge Garden Club and the Lake Angelus Garden Club. When she joined the First Congregational Church of Clarkston she engaged with their garden club and advised many of the members on what the best flowers would be for their church gardens. Mary loved music and played the piano whenever she could. Her friends and family will always remember gathering around the piano to listen to Mary play fight songs from all the Big-Ten Universities and everyone sang along! Mary is survived by her three sons; Peter (Candice) of Santa Cruz, CA, James (Cynthia) of Chelmsford, MA ,Ben Reynolds of Chicago, IL, and her daughter Elizabeth (John Kris) Ernst of Northport, MI. The surviving grandchildren are: Katherine(Evan) Burden, Bonnie Ernst (Andrew Hammond), Mallory (Stuart) Trout-Reynolds, Megan Ernst (Timothy Voice), Sam Reynolds, Jackie Reynolds, John Reynolds, Haley Reynolds and Zoe Reynolds. Maryrsquo;s surviving sister-n-law, Kathleen Stierer who lives in Ely, Cambs, England.
