KAPCIA, MARY LYNN (MICKEY), age 69, of Waterford, MI passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 of a sudden illness. Mickey was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 22, 1952 to  Joseph and Rose (nee Profeta) Kocenda. Loving wife of Ronald Lamarand for 19 years; beloved mother of Richard Kapcia of  Chicago; dear sister of  Jacquelyn Kocenda Murray, Walter (Suzanne) Kocenda and the late Dolores (Bunny) Kocenda Browning.

Mickey was a graduate of Michigan State University and an avid fan of all Spartan sports but particularly MSU basketball. Every season she knew all the names of the Spartan lineup and followed them avidly.

Mickey loved to travel and especially enjoyed cruises and beach locations.  She dearly loved and enjoyed the children in the family and those of friends. She always remembered them with special toys and gifts. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, grand nephews, grand nieces, and great grand nephews.  Her personality and sense of humor made her beloved by many and she will be deeply missed. Her remains will be interred at the Kocenda family gravesite in Livonia in a private service. A memorial service will be held for family and friends in her honor at a later date.
