Mary Honora ("Nora") Allen of Waterford, MI was recalled to God September 9, 2022, aged 89. Nora was born September 26, 1932 in Detroit, MI, the fourth of six children to John Michael Hickey and Margaret Cecelia Curran. She was a graduate of St. Gregory the Great High School in Detroit and Madonna College and Oakland University.  She had a long career as a teacher and basketball coach in the Catholic school system of the Archdiocese of Detroit. Nora is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Floyd; her daughter, Mary Kathryn; siblings: John (Jack, USN – WWII), Margaret Tucker, Aileen Conder, Joseph, and Michael. She is survived by daughters: Margaret (Randy) Kilburn of Pontiac, and Nora (David) Wheeler of Castaic, CA; grandsons: Matthew, Kevin, and Kyle; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Throughout her long life, Nora was a valuable voice of instruction, love, and support to those who knew her.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4-8pm, with a rosary and reflection by family and friends at 7pm at Coats Funeral Home - Waterford. Funeral Mass at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Lake Orion on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11am. Interment at Holy Sepulcher in Southfield.
