Mary Ellen was born in Pontiac, MI and attended business school, before being employed as a secretary with General Motors. She left there to raise her two sons Scott and John. Later in life she volunteered and then became an employee for the American Cancer Society in Lapeer, MI, where she stayed until retirement. She moved her family to Lapeer in 1972 and resided there until after retirement and then returned to Waterford.She was a life long member of Central United Methodist Church in Waterford,MI and served on many programs there.She is survived by her sons Scott (Cindy) Clymer, John (Laurie) Clymer, her sister Ann, stepchildren Bonnie (Bob), Beth and Barbara. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Tim, Sarah, Lauren, Julie, Andre, and Rob.Interment will be at Ottawa Park Cemetery in Clarkston with a small private service with family. In lieu of flowers, any donations should be made to the American Cancer Society on her behalf
