CAREY, MARVIN JAMES, age 91, of Waterford, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022. Marvin was born in Gulliver, Michigan, on October 30, 1931, to the late Sylvester and Wilanna (Carr) Carey. Marvin had served in the US Navy on the USS Bushnell from 1952 until 1956. Following his time in the service, Marvin had worked as signal maintainer for Grand Trunk Western Railroad for over 42 years. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed spending time outdoors and with his family. Marvin especially loved to hunt and fish. Marvin is survived by his daughter Laurie (David) Dougherty; Granddaughter, Nicole (Chris) Sauerwald; Great-Grandchildren: Temperance, Jonah, and Elijah. Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Carolyn, his children: Debbie, William, and Mark. A funeral service will be held at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 1:30PM. The family will accept visitors from 12PM until the time of service. Burial to follow at Ottawa Park Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the committal. Marvin was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
