WILEY, MARJORIE D. of Waterford, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday February 16, 2020 at 92 years of age. Born July 16th in Verona, North Dakota; the daughter of the late Fritzjof and Lillian Pedersen who were also both teachers. As a teenager she helped keep watch from civil defense lookout towers in North Dakota (never seeing much); and worked a summer in the circus riding elephants. She married John J. Wiley on September 29, 1947 eloping to Ostrander, Minnesota, and he preceded her in death on December 21, 2007. She is survived by her loving children Michael (Susan) Wiley, David (Pamela) Wiley and Bridget (Richard) Robbins; adoring grandmother of Jonathan Wiley, Erin (Adam Bendorf) Wiley, Dawn Wiley Knight, Anne (Joe Mead) Wiley, and Laura (David) Moreno; dearest great grandmother of Leila, Ava and Max Moreno and Lily and Macie Knight. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her three brothers Lyell, William and Cyril. A graduate of Michigan State and University of Detroit Marjorie, as a young mother taught piano and sang with the Detroit Metropolitan Opera. She was an active and longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Waterford where she served as an organist, and youth and bell choir director for over 50 years. She taught vocal music in the Waterford School District including at Mason, Waterford Mott, Waterford Central, and many many years at John D. Pierce Middle School, where she especially enjoyed the students. She inspired a love of music in many and found her life's purpose in working with young people. She was a proud, long-time member of the Sons of Norway, a great seamstress, and enjoyed making music of all kinds and in several languages. She also enjoyed cross country skiing, doll making, and going "up north to the cabin" in Lewiston with friends and family.
