KEARNS, LYANE F. (nee Matteillo) of Utica, Oxford, Canadian Lakes, Leesburg, FL, and Lourdes Senior Community, Waterford, passed away July 13, 2021 at 83 years of age. Loving wife of the late Laurence; cherished mother of Elise (fiancé Michael Abar) Kearns, Laurence A. Kearns, Natalie (Aaron) Vukovic, the late Anita Fay Marie, Alexander (Cynthia) Kearns, and Benjamin (Michelle) Kearns; grandmother of Zachary, Garrett (Ashley), Spencer, Lane, Evelyn, Alyssa, Malachi, Amelia, Angelica, Ivan, Kyle, and Elijah. Survived by siblings Mary, Judy, and Donald (Tracy); preceded by siblings John Gerald (Diane), James, Bryan (Marcia), and Joe; sister in law of Irene, Laura, Judy (Phil), and the late Jeanette (Danny) and the late Joan (John). Lyane was a woman ahead of her time with bachelor degrees in math and chemistry. She would use her talents throughout her life in school, church, and Weight Watchers. Devote Catholic she was organizer of the church catechism; director of summer Bible school; and Scout Master. Her artistic talents included playing the violin, guitar, organ, and singing in her church choir. To her family she was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed reading, knitting, quilting, sewing, and mystery chef when she wasn't on the floor playing with her grandchildren. Her signature comforts were wine, coffee, Bufferin, and Altoids. The devotion to her family and faith will be dearly missed by all who love her.
