Schneider
Oct 24, 1941 — Aug 25, 2025
Louis Harry Schneider, of Waterford, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on August 25, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 24, 1941, in Pontiac, Michigan, Louis graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1959. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in accounting and an MBA from Wayne State University. He went on to work for GM/EDS as a systems analyst for roughly 34 years until he retired.
Louis met the love of his life, Patricia, through a mutual friend. Their first date—riding up and down Woodward Avenue in one of his many beautifully restored cars—sparked a lifelong romance. They were married on October 27, 1962. A lifelong car enthusiast, Louis was a proud member of several car clubs. He had a passion for restoring and driving classic cars, including a Jaguar replica with a Pinto motor, Corvettes, hot rods, and Studebakers. Louis was deeply committed to his community and known for his generous spirit. He was actively involved in numerous charitable organizations, including The Order of Alhambra and the Knights of Columbus (K of C). He was a dedicated leader in the Boy Scouts and served as guardian for his brother, playing a vital role at his brother's group home Nobles Family Living in Davisburg.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, Patricia Schneider (née Kern); his children: Gregory Louis (Ann Marie) Schneider, Karen Berneta Robinson, and Timothy Stuart (Laura) Schneider; his grandchildren: Gregory Louis (Kelsey) Schneider, Nicholas Harry Schneider, Lawson Ray (Lindsey) Robinson III, Ryan Patrick Robinson, Bertram Louis Robinson, Joshua Edward Schneider, and Faith Ann Schneider; and his great-grandchildren: Ryland Louis Schneider and Nora Rae Robinson. He is also survived by his brothers, Peter and Joseph. Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Scott and Margaret Helen Schneider, and by his brothers Scott and Michael.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00–8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM at Coats Funeral Home – Waterford. A funeral service will be held Friday, August 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, also at Coats Funeral Home, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
