Lolly O. Dye, of Pontiac, passed away on October 23, 2026, at the age of 78. Born Oralia Ramirez in Corpus Christi, Texas, to her loving parents, Monico and Cleo Ramirez, Lolly later moved with her family to Michigan, where she attended Eastern Junior High School in Pontiac.
It was in Michigan that Lolly met the love of her life, William “Bill” Henry Dye, and the rest was history. They were married on December 2, 1966, and together built a beautiful life and a wonderful family. Family meant everything to Lolly, and she cherished every moment spent with those she loved. Lolly was a dedicated, hardworking woman who spent more than 20 years working as a nutritionist with the MSU Extension Cooperative before retiring. While she took great pride in her work, her greatest passion in life was sharing her faith. Lolly had one goal: for everyone to know Jesus and to help make Heaven more crowded. Her faith was at the heart of everything she did, and she was deeply involved in her church, Mt. Zion. She served as a deaconess and taught baptism classes in both English and Spanish, sharing the love of Christ with everyone she encountered. Above all, Lolly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she treasured each of them dearly. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she leaves behind a legacy of faith, kindness, hard work, and unconditional love that will continue through the generations.
Lolly leaves behind her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Bill; her daughters, Monica (Scott) Hawes and Krissy (Charles) Hyde; her cherished grandchildren, Kristyn (Delbert), May (Heidi), Morgan (Austin), Charlise (Brian), and Gracie (fiancé Caden); and her great-grandchildren, Devyn, Demi Rae, Braxton, Charlie, MoNay, and Brian Jr. She is also survived by her grandson-in-law, Matthew Suddeth; her siblings, Maria Ramirez and Monico (Deborah) Ramirez Jr.; and many other loving family members and friends. Lolly was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Jenée Suddeth, and her great-grandchildren, Mateo and Nikko Suddeth.
The family extends a special and heartfelt thank-you to Lolly’s granddaughter, Kristyn, who moved in to care for her grandma and grandpa. Her love, devotion, and willingness to be there for them will always be treasured. Her last words were to Kristyn saying “I love you Monch”.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, November 2, at Mt. Zion Church in Clarkston on Maybee Road officiated by Pastor Loren Covarrubias, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with the service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Mt. Zion Church.
