Linvel Paul Banks, of Clarkston, Mich., went to be with the lord on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020. He was 85 years old. Born on July 30, 1935, he spent the early years of his life in Central Kentucky, then moved to Michigan and started a family and a career at General Motors. Known as Paul, he retired from General Motors in the mid-90s after working for the company for nearly 35 years in the truck and bus division.He loved to pray for his family and friends in things big and small. He loved to plant big kisses on his grandkids. He liked to keep a garden, feed the birds, and to spend time drinking coffee on his porch. He was a member of the Apostolic Church of Auburn Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents, many siblings and his wife, Sandra Banks. He was survived in death by his five children: Linvel Banks II (Debbie), Ronald Banks (Michelle), Paula Elam (Jeff), Gary Banks (Dawn), and Michael Banks (Chelsea) and two stepchildren Bill LaTurneau (Dawn) and Becky LaTurneau. He had several grandchildren: Jeremy Banks (Megan, Carter), Lenny Banks, Amanda Haggard (Paul, Alice), Alisha Banks (Carlie, Skyler, Savannah), Jessica Elam, Damon Knight, Ryne Banks, Devon Banks, Gabriel Banks, Trevor Hood, Courtney Akers (Zachary), Clay LaTurneau, Curtis LaTurneau, Dominiece, Bobby.
