Obituary

Leonard James Methner, known affectionately as "Lenny" passed away peacefully in his residence of Grand Rapids Michigan on Friday, March 29, 2024. He was born on February 22, 1953, to Mary and Leonard Methner; Lenny was a resident of Waterford Michigan, Fort Myers Florida, and more recently Grand Rapids Michigan. Lenny graduated from Our Lady of the Lakes High School and attended Hillsdale College on a football scholarship. Leonard worked for General Motors for many years and retired happily in Florida with his wife, Linda Methner.

Leonard loved hunting, sports, boating, and spending time with family and friends. He had a passion for gardening and cooking. Lenny was most proud of his grandchildren. His smart, beautiful, and kind granddaughter, Camryn, who he shared a love for morning coffee with and his strong, fun loving, and kindhearted grandson, Kyler, who he shared a love of barbecue ribs and sports with.

His memory will forever be held in the hearts of his surviving family; daughter, Chaye (James) Klomparens; grandchildren, Camryn Klomparens and Kyler Klomparens; siblings, Carol (William) Mountain, William (Marie) Methner, Gerald (Beverly) Methner, and Joesph (Dianne) Methner; former wife and good friend, Chris Green; and nieces and nephews, Bill Mountain Jr., Tom Mountain, Jim Weyer, John Weyer, Nichole Crandall, Jerry Methner, Jacob Methner, and Tanner Sanford. Sadly, Lenny was proceeded in death by his wife, Linda (nee Haneline) Methner; brother, Leonard Michael Methner; nephew, Patrick Mountain; father, Leonard Micheal Methner; and mother, Mary Methner.
