HOLMES, LEO JOHN L,of Davisburg, formerly of Pontiac (60 years), went home to be with his Lord on March 9, 2020 at 91 years of age. Leo was born in Eva, Alabama on December 17, 1928 to Oliver and Sybil (nee Summerford) Holmes, following the birth of his twin sister Cleo. Leo proudly served in the U.S. Army in the 24th Infantry Division "Easy Company" during the Korean War. In 1956, he married Opal Kent with whom he had two sons Timothy and the late Brian Holmes. They were married for 35 years. After Opal's passing Leo married Dorothy (nee Hicks) Lloyd in 1992. They were married 27 years until her passing. Leo was a good and kind hearted man who personified the heart of his Savior. He loved gardening, fishing and watching the Detroit Tigers, win or lose. He retired from General Motors Truck and Coach in 1986. He is survived by his sisters Cleo Long of Alabama and Shirley Forrester of North Carolina; his son Timothy (Lisa) Holmes, Kris Holmes (widow of the late son Brian), step-daughter Debbie (Rick) Wheeler and step-son David Lloyd; his grandchildren Victoria Holmes, Tyler Holmes, Tristan Holmes, Andrew Holmes, Nathanael Holmes, Ken Wheeler and Shanna (Rian) Zeckzer; his great grandchildren Max and Ethan Zeckzer. Leo will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
