Laurie Ann
Giglio
Mar 24, 1954 — Jul 12, 2021
GIGLIO, LAURIE ANN 7/12/2021; Laurie departed peacefully from us at her home in Waterford, Michigan on July 12, 2021 at 67 years of age. Laurie, the daughter of Armand and Gloria Giglio, was born in Pontiac, Michigan on March 24, 1954, and was a graduate of Pontiac Catholic High School. Laurie worked at Hudson's in the china department for 5 years, and then began her career for Waterford Township starting in the water department and transitioning into other roles, totaling 25+ years and retiring in 2002. After a few years of retirement, Laurie worked at DZI Construction for 13 years providing administrative/clerical support leaving at the end of 2017. Laurie was exceptionally generous with her time, generous with her home, and generous with her love to anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She enjoyed spending her time meticulously caring for her flower garden, doting on her cats, golfing, meeting up with friends around town, and hosting family get-togethers at her home. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; she is survived by her brother Frank (Fran) Giglio, and sister Susan (Terry) Underwood; her beloved nieces and nephews, Scott (Sonya) Sayre, Nick (Shannon) Giglio, Angela (Chris) LaSalle, Tara (Eric) Schroeder, Matthew Underwood, and Lyndsey (Ryan) Winfield; her grand-nieces and grand-nephews; cousins; numerous close friends; and her adored cat, Brody Michael. Per Laurie's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life will be planned for later this summer at her home. In lieu of flowers, Laurie would have loved for donations to be sent to your local animal shelter, or organizations that further cancer research and treatments. "If ever there is tomorrow when we're not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we're apart, I'll always be with you." The celebration of life will take place in Laurie's beautiful backyard on August 14, 2021 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. A lunch will be available at 1:30, followed by a toast and tribute to Laurie. BYOB. Please bring a chair to sit in during the get together/commemoration (limited seating will be provided). Bring your pictures, your memories, and your love of Laurie to share with those that were impacted and touched by the wonderful presence she brought to all she encountered.
