p73, of Middleville, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, April 23, 2019. He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on June 26, 1945 to the late David H. and Inis Ruby Slater. Larry graduated from Pontiac Northern High School in 1964, where he took 3rd in the state in pole vaulting his senior year. He married the late Wanda Lou Slater on December 5, 1964 and they spent 50 wonderful years together; cherished father of three children, Angela (Lorne) TerMarsch, Robyn (Greg) Sorrell and Sean (Diana) Slater; beloved grandfather of 6 grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Kyle (Montserrat), Rachel (Kevin), McKenzie (Luke), Alexis, Brooke and Nicklas; dearest brother of Jim (Diane), Danny (Debbie), Debbie (the late Pete), Lynn (Biff) and Lisa (Dennis), brother-in-law of Cindy (Gary), the late Sandra (Tom) and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Larry attended Gun Lake Community Church in Middleville. Larry had many interests over the years, among them were singing on the worship team at church, softball, golf, fishing, and driving his pontoon boat. He passed on his love for coin collecting to his grandchildren. He loved old movies and his grandchildren seldom found a movie that grandpa hadnrsquo;t seen. He faithfully attended sporting events for all of his grandchildren, cheering them on enthusiastically. They always knew he would be there, sometimes traveling for hours to attend a single event. His love for his children and grandchildren was no secret to anyone Larry knew. He would manage to tell others about them whenever the opportunity arose. His children, grandchildren, and even in-law children knew he was behind them in any endeavor they took on. His support was known and loved by his entire family. Above all else Larry displayed a love for his Lord that his family saw every day. He lived out his faith by putting others before himself, quietly following Christrsquo;s example, by visiting family and friends, and offering support and help wherever and whenever needed.
