Obituary

RETZLAFF, KURT L., of Waterford, passed away on August 14, 2026, at 76 years of age.

Kurt was the loving husband of Marti (née Yeager) for 41 wonderful years; dear father of Nicholas; and brother of Ralph and Mary Lou. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elizabeth, and his sister, Janet.

Kurt proudly retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years of dedicated service, delivering mail throughout Waterford and Pontiac. He took pride in knowing the communities he served and the people he encountered along the way.

A true music lover, Kurt was a big fan of rock and roll. He also had a passion for sports, with baseball holding the top spot, followed closely by football. He enjoyed cheering on his favorite teams and sharing his enthusiasm for the games.

Kurt never owned a classic car of his own, but that certainly didn't keep him from appreciating them. He loved attending car shows with friends and admiring the beautiful cars and the stories behind them.

Some of Kurt's happiest times were spent simply enjoying life with Marti. The two loved getting in the car and driving, whether it was a leisurely ride with no particular. One of their memorable adventures was traveling to California to visit family.

Kurt had a wonderful sense of humor and, most importantly, he and Marti knew how to laugh together. Their ability to find joy in the everyday and share a good laugh was one of the special qualities of their life together. They took genuine pleasure in each other's company and made laughter a part of their everyday lives.

Kurt will be remembered for his love of music, sports, cars, travel, and, above all, the life he shared with Marti. His easygoing nature, quick wit, and ability to find humor in the simplest moments will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Family will receives friends Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 3-7 PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD. To post a tribute, visit www.CoatsFuneralHome.com
