WALTZ, KAREN R. (née Hunwick) of Rochester Hills, formerly of Waterford, passed away June 18, 2024 at 82 years of age. Loving wife of Harold Brehm for 38 years; dear mother of Michelle (Gary) Bickel, Sean (Selina) Waltz, and Jason (Kara) Waltz; grandmother of Bowen; sister of the late Bernard Hunwick; step mother of Stephany Moritz, Stacey Howe, Shelly Durkin, and Sherry White. Karen was a graduate of Eastern Michigan University earning a master's degree in education. She taught high school biology in Huron Valley Schools and retired in 2004 after over 30 years of dedicated teaching. She was an independent and intelligent woman who raised three children, worked, earned her degree, and provided all her children with college educations. Karen enjoyed knitting, camping, boating, reading, and summers on Lake Huron. She will be remembered for the love and dedication she had for her family. Interment will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Arrangements entrusted to COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.
