UMPHREY, JOSEPH "JOE" R., age 86 of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. He was born on March 18, 1936 in Pontiac to the late Elmer "Bud" and Josephine (Olesick) Brown. Joe retired from GM after 32 years of dedicated service. He had fond memories and loved telling stories about his high school days and playing basketball. More recently, he enjoyed playing on senior bowling and softball leagues. Joe is survived by his grandson, Cody King; step-niece, Donna Whitehead; and ex-wife, Diane Brandon. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah King. A funeral service will take place at 12 noon on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at COATS FUNERAL HOME – WATERFORD. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 4-8pm. Interment at Crescent Hills Cemetery in Waterford. Those desiring may make a memorial contribution to the Michigan Humane Society in honor of Joe.
