HUMPHREYS, JOSEPH FRANCIS SR. age 80; of Waterford, Michigan, passed away from Covid-19 on March 29, 2020. Born December 18, 1939 in Pontiac, Michigan son of the late Louis and Rose Humphreys (nee Sebaskey); beloved husband of Gloria Humphreys (nee Opie) for almost 52 years; cherished father of Joseph (Julie) Humphreys, Kenneth (Diana) Humphreys, Jeanne (Gregory) Triola, and Karen (Walter) Henderson; proud grandfather of Joseph Humphreys III, Maria Humphreys, Luke Humphreys, David Humphreys, Brendan Triola, Brady Triola, Benjamin Triola, Brienna Triola, Ryan Humphreys, Bella Henderson, Lillian Henderson, Evan Henderson, Aidan Henderson, and Declan Henderson; dearest brother of Patricia (Richard) McLeod, and preceded in death by siblings Louis, Jr. (Barbara), Robert (Clarice) Gerald (Dolores), Richard, Beverly Zubalik (Ernest), Margaret (Tim) Schooley, Carolyn Thibert, and Maryann (Jerry) Weber; uncle to many wonderful nieces and nephews. Joseph graduated from St. Frederick's High School, Pontiac. He met the love of his life Gloria through his brother and married her July 20, 1968. He worked at GM for 44 years. He was a longtime parishioner at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford and at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church in Orchard Lake. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962 and was stationed in Maine, Mississippi, and Japan. His favorite pass time was spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. He also enjoyed his Detroit sports teams, especially the Detroit Lions. Interment at Christian Memorial Cemetery.
