of Clarkston, surrounded by his family, passed away November 18, 2017 at 82 years of age. Loving high school sweet heart and husband of Beverly for 62 years; dear father of Kristen (Kenneth) Wyrick and the late Joseph L. Jr.; loving grandfather to his cherished grandchildren, Danielle, William, Nicholas, Zachary, and Michelle of Belgium; brother of Barbara Brace. Preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Louise; siblings, Larry, Janet Albright, and Eileen Stone. Survived by many nieces and nephews. An honor student and star athlete, graduating from Gladstone HS, Northern Michigan University, and Michigan State, Joe was captain of the track team and NMUrsquo;s only undefeated football team; maintained his love of sports in retirement as a winner of master tournaments with the Classic Paddleball Team. Joe retired from Pontiac Northern HS where he had fond memories of students and staff, as well as, director of Non-Instructional Personnel. Starting his day at Petersquo;s Oven, time at the cottage on Bay de Noc Peninsula, and time with family, Joe enjoyed retirement. With a connection with the U.P. he will always be a Youper.
