SHIMMIN, JOHN D. of Waterford, passed away November 30, 2020 at 52 years of age. Beloved father of Sean Shimmin; cherished son of Karen and the late Robert Shimmin, Sr.; brother of the late Robert Shimmin, Jr.; uncle of Matthew Shimmin; boyfriend of Donna Raschke, and her children, Emma, Spencer, Ashley, and Tim;. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and the mother of his son Terri Shimmin. John was a 1986 graduate of Walled Lake Central. A skilled carpenter and cabinet maker, John owned and operated JDS Design in Wixom. He enjoyed building bird houses and squirrel picnic tables; a great cook, indoor and outdoor; and gardening. He will be remembered for his ability to build anything and the quality time he spent with family and friends. His infectious smile and laugh will be deeply missed by all who loved him. No service will be held at this time.
