SCHULZ, JOHN E., of Port Richey, FL, formerly of Waterford and Grand Blanc, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019, at 83 years of age. Born in Mason City, Illinois, the son to the late Alfred and Maxine Schulz. He is the beloved husband of the late Norma, and to Brenda for 27 years; loving father of Cheryl Schulz, Carrie (Jeff) Mumper, Chris (Anne) Schulz, Darla (Joe) Pisto and Deanna (John) Allard; dearest grandfather of Greg (Brooke), Amanda, Kyle (Caitlin), David, Tony, Natalie, Miranda(Ryan), Kyle and Hannah; great grandfather of Maverick, Asher, Phoenix, Elijah and one on the way; dear brother of Bonnie (Carl) Solden. John was a 1954 graduate of Pontiac High School. After high school he went on to work with his father in-law at Vernor's and then retired from the Pontiac Fire Department, after 24 years of service. John was a very social person, being involved in many organizations including the March of Dimes, Corvette Club, Eagles, VFW, American Legion, Moose and Elks Lodges. During race season you could always find him watching one of his true loves, NASCAR. In the 1970's he had the opportunity to go to the Indy 500 and work in the pits with the fire crew. John also was a big promoter of country music, working with many of his favorite singers at the Pontiac Silverdome. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
