SMITH, JOHN RAYMOND, age 71, of Waterford, passed away February 3, 2021. He was born on August 26, 1949, in Clarkston, Michigan, son to the late George and Florence Smith (nee Hollingstead). Loving husband of Sharlene for 50 wonderful years; dear father of Tamera (Ron) Conwell, Janay (Dennis) McVety, John Jr. (Angela) Smith and Kirk Smith; proud grandfather of Brianna (Evan), Michael, Taylor, Logan, Meranda, Emma, Tanner, Jonathan and Tripp; great grandfather of Addilynn, Colton, Daxton, Brooklyn, David and Bentley. He is proceeded in death by his siblings; Harry (Donna) Smith, Verna (Floyd) Thompson and Jim (Marilyn) Smith. John was a veteran who served in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam era. He worked for 36 years as a manager of Food Town and then went onto work for Independence Township for 10 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, garage sales, and tinkering, but most of all, he treasured his time with his family.
