of Waterford went home to be with Jesus October 31, 2015 at 82 years of age. Born April 28, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late John and Kathryn Smith. Beloved husband of Marion for 58 years; loving father of Carol (Kerry) Cronk, Patricia (the late Rick) Young, Mary (Mike) Quakenbush and Cynthia Smith; dearest grandfather of Erin (Randy), Shana, Sherrie (Stephen), Christopher, Tory, Naomi and John Paul; great grandfather of Austin, Solara, Elliana and Luke; dear brother of George (Nancy), Jim (the late Angie), Monica, Sister Mary Veronica of the Cross, Diane (Gary) and the late Clare (the late Peter). Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. John worked for Ford Motor Company as an engineer retiring after many years of service. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army and was a proud owner of Silver Lake Golf Club.
