NICHOLSON, JOHN W. of Clarkston, passed away May 31, 2022 at 69 years of age. Loving husband of Alice (nee Mears) for 51 years; dear father of Jennifer (Michael) Ferman and John (Kristen) Nicholson; grandfather of Michael, Nicholas, Olivia, Lukas, Alexis, and Trevor; beloved brother of Karen and Diane. John was preceded in death by father, John J. Nicholson; mother, Patricia Becker Nicholson, brother, Raymond Nicholson, and sister, Donna Nicholson Gourand. John was a veteran of the US Navy and a retired project manager for Johnson Controls. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Independence Township for over 20 years. John was a huge electronics buff and could do just about anything technical. He also enjoyed biking and cruising in his Mustang convertible! John and his wife, Alice often hosted family, friends and colleagues for barbeques, hayrides, fireworks, food and fun! The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 7 from 4-8 PM. The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 10 AM at COATS FUNERAL HOME on SASHABAW RD in WATERFORD. Burial follows at Lakeview Cemetery on White Lake Road in Clarkston.
