MUELLER-TRATHEN, JOHN of Waterford, passed away February 23, 2023 at 83 years of age. Loving husband of Christine for 60 years; dear father of John Mueller-Trathen, Jr. and Heidi (Gary) Mekjian; grandfather of Ethan, Kara, Brian, Jacob, Alex, Katie, Lukas, and Lisa; great grandfather of Lori. Born and raised in Linz, Austria, John, age 18, immigrated to the US for a new life. He was a veteran of the US Army and retired from GM after over 30 years of service as head of the Photographic Division.  John and Christine raised their family in Union Lake. Life was spent traveling all over the US camping with his family and later in their motorhome. He was active in their Motor City Winnies Motor Home Club and their condo association. He adored his grandchildren; had a wonderful sense of humor; and was a little prankster. He will be dearly missed forever. A memorial service will be held March 3, 2023 at 11 AM  at COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD.  Family will receive friends Thursday from 4-8 PM. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly at a later date.
