McCARTHY, JOHN PATRICK, of Waterford, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at 78 years of age. Born October 10, 1941 in Pontiac, Michigan, son to the late Gerald and Margaret McCarthy. Loving husband of Zora for 50 years; dear father of John (Kate) McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy and Michael McCarthy and his beloved dogs Shelby and Gracie; dear brother of Skip (the late Renee) Davies, Mary DeKam, Marty (Cindy) Friess, Vickie Asher, Joe (Beth) Friess and Jim (Sandy) Friess. John worked for ATT for 37 years. He is a Vietnam veteran serving his county proudly in the United States Navy. John was also a longtime member of the Oakland County Sportsman's Club.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind.
