John "Jack" Perry Hassenzahl was born September 20, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Saint Joes Hospital Pontiac, Michigan.He is survived by his loving wife Rose (Jerke-Beckman) Hassenzahl of Burton, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife the late Margaret Ann (Hawkins) Hassenzahl formerly of Clarkston, Michigan. He is survived by daughter Dawn (Hassenzahl) and Bernardo Cuellar, daughter Beth (Hassenzahl) and Mark Ambrose, son Luke and Roxanne Hassenzahl, son Charles Beckman, and daughter Roseann (Beckman) and Steve Dalziel. He was preceded in death by his son the late John Perry Hassenzahl (1966). He loved his grandchildren: Aurora Young (Cuellar), Izak Ambrose, Mark Hassenzahl, Alicia Cuellar, Joshua Ambrose, John Hassenzahl, Marissa Ambrose, Arianna Hassenzahl, Abigail Dalziel and Zoe Ambrose.He is also survived by Robert (brother) and Shirley Hassenzahl; Gary and Ruth (sister) Herne; Jackie Hassenzahl (sister-in-law); and James and Lawanda (sister) Parker. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Frederick and Winifred Hassenzahl and brother Homer Hassenzahl.During adolescence, Mr. Hassenzahl enjoyed raising cows for 4H and cars. He worked at Michigan Bell for 38 years. He was an active member of Marimont Community Church since birth and especially enjoyed being part of building the current church. He also enjoyed doing volunteer work for Special Olympics. Sudoku was large part of retirement years. He enjoyed traveling during his retirement years traveling to the Upper Peninsula and as far as Europe.Services will be held Saturday January 23, 2021 at Marimont Community Church 424 West Walton Blvd. Pontiac, MI 48340. Visitation at 11:00AM, Service at 12:00PM followed by graveside ceremony at Perry Mount Park Cemetery 878 N Perry St. Pontiac, MI 48340.
