Father of Wendy (Steve) Vanderpool and the late Joey Brown; grandfather of Rebeka Vanderpool, the late Stephen and the late Keith Vanderpool; brother of Phyllis (Charlie) Honchell. Preceded in death by his siblings Joe, Carolyn and Carlos Brown, Joyce and Irving Jr. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. John retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. He had a great love for animals. He also enjoyed educating himself, taking many classes and earning many degrees while working at GM.
