John was born in Buffalo New York to Howard and Edith Bender, they eventually moved to the Rochester/Romeo area. He loved to tell stories of growing up in the country with his brother Bob and sister Sharon. The Bender family moved to Ferndale, Michigan when John was a teenager. It was there that he met and married Patty. They had 4 children Laurie (John), Mike (Kris), Kimm (Kathleen), Tracy (Eric), their growing family includes grandkids Madi (Ty), Dakota (Brooke), Dylan, Mckenzie (Kevin), Grayson, and Kayden (Jesse), and great grandkids Hudson and soon to arrive grandson Jett. John and Patty started Complex Tool early in their marriage, which he continued to run successfully, with his son Mike and daughter-in-law Kris, until his death . He loved to go to the shop everyday to "work" on new projects. Anyone who knew John knows he could fix and repair/rebuild/machine anything and everything. If he wasn't "working" he would be happy to beat you in a game of pool at the pool table he kept at the shop. Please join us in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 1:00-5:00 PM at Mr. B's Roadhouse in Clarkston (6761 Dixie Hwy.). In lieu of flowers donation to Hospice is appreciated.
