BOWKER, GERALDINE "JERRIE", age 82, passed away with the family by her side on July 30, 2021. Jerrie was born on March 7, 1939, in Prudenville, Michigan to Dean and Evelyn (Clark) Secord. Jerrie was raised by her mother, Evelyn and Leonard Hawald. Before Jerrie became a licensed cosmetologist, she had graduated from Utica Community High School. Jerrie was strong in her faith. At the church, Jerrie was a prayer warrior, head of the prayer chain, head of the food bank, taught sunday school, and head of the nursery. Aside from her work in the church, Jerrie was known as a woman of many talents as she was a seamstress, an avid baker, and cut hair for the homeless. In her free time, Jerrie loved to spend time with her family. One activity that Jerrie loved to do with her family was watch movies. Jerrie is survived by her husband of 26 years, Russ; her children; David (the late Lyndel) Davis, Kathy (James) Ellison, John (Cheryl) Davis, Mark (Cris) Bowker, and April (David) Covey; her sister, Margie; her grandchildren, Brian (Taylor), Emily (fiancé Marcus), Matthew, Eric (Karly), Jeff (Amanda), Kim (Luis), Sarah (Mike), Aaron (Alicia), MaryAnn (Marcus); great-grandmother of Brandon, Rebecca, Natalie, Rieley, Luis Jr., Luciano, Leilani, Grace, Natalie, and Baby Lewis arriving in August 2021; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend from Trinidad, Venid (Mum) Floyd. Jerrie was preceded in death by her siblings; Bob, Pat, Judy, and Ted, as well as her parents. The family will accept visitors on Monday, August 2, 2021 from 6PM-9PM at COATS FUNERAL HOME WATERFORD and a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10AM (visitors accepted beginning at 9:30) at Harvestland Church (5848 Clintonville Rd, Village of Clarkston, MI 48348) and will be officiated by Pastor Pete Freeman. Jerrie will be laid to rest at Christian Memorial Cultural Center following the funeral service. Jerrie was loved by many and will be missed deeply.
