of Clarkston, surrounded by his loving family, passed away April 27, 2019 at 67 years of age. Loving husband of Debbie for 34 years; cherished father of Ian. Preceded in death by his parents Jay and Ruby, and brother Lewis Owen. Jay graduated from Pontiac Central H. S. and received a bachelor degree from Eastern Michigan University. He worked for Havenwyck Hospital as a social worker. Due to his health, Jay retired at an early age and embarked on his greatest joy - raising his son. He loved music of all genres, though his favorite was Irish; he sang; played guitar, the bodhran drum, and would frequently perform at the Renaissance Festival. Jay was a great humanitarian that never knew a stranger. He would eventually become involved in Independence Township Public Access Television believing in the need for all inclusive programming. Overall Jay was a remarkable man that will be truly missed by all who knew him.
