SEIFERT, JANICE M. (née Buttrey), of Lake Orion, passed away on August 24, 2026, at 86 years of age.

Janice was the loving wife of James for 67 wonderful years; devoted mother of David (Luz) Seifert and Todd (Wendy) Seifert; cherished grandmother of Seth, Rachel, and Karla; and dear sister of Larry (Joan) Buttrey.

A loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Janice devoted her life to the people she loved. She found happiness in creating a warm and welcoming home, where cooking, gardening, and caring for her family were among the many ways she expressed her love.

Janice and James shared a wonderful life together, filled with adventures, friendships, and countless miles traveled. Of all their interests, traveling the country in their fifth wheel was perhaps what Janice enjoyed most. They discovered new places, made memories along the way, and built friendships that lasted far beyond their travels.

Camping was especially meaningful to Janice and James, and they enjoyed it as part of a close-knit group of friends. Their camping group became a family of its own, traveling together and collecting memories from across the country. The group even proudly wore vests covered with patches representing the many corners of the country they had visited—a colorful reminder of their adventures together.

Janice enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including gardening, cooking, Bingo nights, and snowmobiling. Instead, she was quietly social, observant, and genuinely interested in people. She enjoyed listening, watching, and taking in the personalities and stories of those around her.

Above all, Janice treasured the life she shared with James and the family they built together. For 67 years, they walked through life side by side, creating a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever.

Janice will be remembered for her quiet warmth, her love of family, her appreciation for friendship and adventure, and the countless beautiful memories she made along the way. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her children, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
